With Liverpool interested in Sporting defenders Gonçalo Inácio and Ousmane Diomande, it seems the Lions are getting ready for their potential departures in the summer.
Newspaper Record today reports that the Lisbon side have been advancing to sign Anderlecht centre-back Zeno Debast. They’re believed to be in ‘pole position’ for the signing and already prepared a contract for him.
Sporting have a great defence with Inácio and Diomande, and the interest from Liverpool and other clubs is exactly the reason they’ve been looking for other players for that position.
Record writes that the Reds are interested in both defenders. It’s highlighted that they have the Portuguese player ‘referenced’ and have been scouting the Ivorian.
Inácio is protected by a €60m release clause, and even though Diomande’s stands at €80m, a story from A Bola today stated the Lions would take something between €50m and €60m for him.
With Sporting ready to sell, it’s now up to Liverpool to show up with a convincing bid for either of them. And they better move quickly, because the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, Newcastle United and Arsenal have all been linked to the duo.
