It seems that with every day that goes by, Henry Onyekuru edges that little bit further away from a move to Celtic Park.
In fact, we think it’s fair to say that Brendan Rodgers’ chance of signing the Nigerian forward from Eupen in Belgium have now all but gone.
A Celtic target back in January, with the Scottish club making a €1.5m bid for the forward, the 19-year-old is now being tracked by a handful of Premier League clubs, with Everton and Southampton even setting up meetings with a player regarding a transfer in the summer.
The Jupiler Pro League side are said to want around €15m for their star man, which would include add-ons based on success and future transfer percentages.
This means that unless Celtic want to obliterate their record transfer fee on the youngster, the player is now out of their reach.
Of course, if they were to sell Moussa Dembélé early on in the summer, this could change drastically, but until that happens, Onyekuru seems to be a lost cause for Rodgers and co.
