Manager ‘open’ to Sunderland job has ‘interest from England’ – Already rejected 2 offers

On Wednesday, WP SportoweFakty reported Marek Papszun is ‘open’ to becoming the next Sunderland manager.

The Pole hasn’t returned to the bench since leaving Raków Częstochowa last summer and has already revealed that he wants to end his vacation soon.

After the Sunderland claims surfaced, Meczyki.pl journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk, relayed by Transfery Info, provides the latest on the 49-year-old.

Papszun has been linked with several jobs in recent months and the list includes Dynamo Kiev, OFI Crete and Olympiakos, along with the Poland, Latvia and Czech Republic national teams. The Black Cats are now added to this list.

Włodarczyk told Meczyki.pl’s Okno Transferowe that the coach has already rejected offers from OFI Crete and Latvia, after they held talks with him in Warsaw last month.

The English media initially reported the Championship side have Papszun’s name in their list. The journalist now claims ‘there is indeed interest in Papszun from England’ but didn’t specifically confirm whether it’s from Sunderland or another club.

Earlier this week, Sunderland parted ways with Michael Beale and appointed Mike Dodds as interim manager until the end of this season.
