Earlier this week, Sunderland parted ways with Michael Beale, two months after appointing him as their new manager.

A few candidates have already been linked and claims from the UK have stated Marek Papszun’s name is included in this list.

This is relayed by WP SportoweFakty, who then share their own take on the possibility of the 49-year-old ending up at Sunderland.

He’s been without a club since leaving Raków Częstochowa last summer. Papszun played a key role in helping the Polish club win cup competitions in 2021 and 2022, and the league last season.

Papszun has already been linked to a few jobs and came close to becoming the new Poland manager, before losing out to Michał Probierz.

Earlier this month, the manager told Piłka Nożna that he wants to end his vacation and return to the bench soon. He also stated that there are a few foreign clubs looking at him.

WP SportoweFakty highlight this and suggest it’s possible the Black Cats could be one of them. They further add the Polish coach is ‘open to this direction’, meaning he’s tempted to become the next Sunderland manager… that’s because he’s open to leaving the country.

Sunderland have announced that Mike Dodds will be interim manager until the end of the season, and a new manager will take charge from the summer.
