Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro are in talks for Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa, according to reports from South America.
UOL claims the Galo have been working ‘for days’ on the 29-year-old’s permanent transfer.
The story says that Nottingham Forest see Scarpa as ‘negotiable’, and Atlético already know how much they need for the deal.
Scarpa was signed by Nottingham Forest as a free agent back in January, but things haven’t worked out for him in England, and that’s why he was sent to Olympiakos on a loan deal last summer.
He’s been getting little playing time in Greece as well, and that’s why Brazilian clubs recently started getting interested in bringing him back to the country.
The midfielder still has a contract with Nottingham Forest until 2026, so in case they really don’t believe he could work, it’s probably a good idea to accept one of the offers for him in the coming months, or a bad spell in Greece will only devalue him.
