Having lost Sandro Tonali for the foreseeable future, Newcastle United are hard at work trying to find an adequate, short-term replacement.
One of the many names that have been linked with a move to St James’ Park is that of Kalvin Phillips, currently a borderline persona non-grata at Manchester City.
TuttoJuve in Italy cover the situation surrounding the 27-year-old, since Juventus are also keen, with it pointed out that the Serie A side are going to provide ‘stiff competition’ in the race with Newcastle to acquire the midfielder.
Pep Guardiola’s side, down their end, are looking to ‘sell him to the highest bidder’, with it then added that Newcastle are ‘currently’ in that position.
Real Madrid are also thrown in there, although whether they would genuinely move for Phillips remains to be seen.
Either way, Newcastle seem to be in a good position for the time being, but will have to brace themselves in the coming weeks, as other teams are very clearly circling.
