It’s fair to say that when Arsenal decided to spend €25m on Jakub Kiwior, many were surprised by the move.
The young Poland international had been impressing in Italy, but with the likes of Gabriel Magalhães and William Saliba already in place as the starting centre-backs at the Emirates, there wasn’t a lot of room for him to start.
As a result of this, he has barely featured for Arsenal, which Italian clubs, like AS Roma, are looking to take advantage of in January, according to Leggo, relayed by Forza Roma.
Following interest from AC Milan, it’s revealed that Tiago Pinto has added the Polish centre-back’s name to his ‘notebook’ ahead of the next transfer window.
Kiwior has been ‘unable to repeat’ the ‘excellent performances’ that placed him on the map at Spezia, but he isn’t the only defender they are targeting, as they will also try for the likes of Radu Drǎgușin and Eric Dier.
The latter is said to be José Mourinho’s favourite for the role, since the two worked together at Tottenham in the past, but the addition of Kiwior to the agenda suggests that might not be a viable avenue, regardless of how little the England international plays in London.
