On November 3rd, UOL explained that Fluminense star Nino has an ‘agreement in place’ with Nottingham Forest.
Later that day, when UOL asked about claims of the Tricky Trees’ interest, he said: “I found out this morning. It’s not something I want to talk about at the moment because nothing other than tomorrow’s final interests me.”
Globo Esporte have relayed it and then shared their own updates on Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of the 26-year-old.
Steve Cooper’s side have ‘signalled’ to the Brazilian club that they will invest €7m to sign Nino in January. If the deal goes through, Fluminense will receive 60% of the fee and 40% will go to his former club, Criciúma.
That’s not an unusual situation in Brazil
As a part of the deal, Globo state Fluminense would be entitled to receive 20% of the fee from the player’s future sale.
At the weekend, Fluminense overcame Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores final and the success means they’ve qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup in December.
According to Globo, Nino will compete in this tournament and then leave for Nottingham Forest.
The defender has received advantageous offers from UD Almería and Beşiktaş, but he ‘chose to go to Nottingham Forest’.
