Having let Romelu Lukaku leave on loan to AS Roma despite never intending on playing him, Chelsea were a bit short in the striker department, but there is some good news.
That’s the likely return of Armando Broja, who has been out for a while with a knee injury, but who could be back after the international break.
This is according to the president of the Albanian FA, Armando Duka, who was asked about the Chelsea striker after they beat Poland, speaking to Euronews.
Asked about whether or not Albania supporters could expect to see their star striker return for the next set of international games, Duka was optimistic.
The 22-year-old striker has been at Chelsea since 2009, when he arrived on a free transfer from Tottenham, and has made his way through the ranks at Stamford Bridge.
He did have a couple of loans at Vitesse and Southampton along the way, but despite reported efforts from clubs to sign him this summer, he stayed with the Blues.
Mauricio Pochettino is likely to need him in the current season, and a return to action this week, albeit as a substitute, could be a big boost for Chelsea.
