About an hour ago, news emerged that Wolverhampton Wanderers had reached an agreement with Strasbourg midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

This came after Wolves saw their €25m bid for Habib Diarra turned down, and it was added they were in talks with the Ligue 1 side to reach an agreement for the transfer.

Well, Alsa’Sports, an outlet close to the French club, are denying all of this, and make it clear the midfielder isn’t going anywhere.

They directly refer to what was being said by Foot Mercato, and then add their own information, headlining the article as Strasbourg ‘pushing back the advances’ for Bellegarde.

Their stance is as direct as it can be, and state Strasbourg, now managed by Patrick Vieira, ‘do not want to part ways’ with their star midfielder, who already boasts two goals and two assists in the first three league games of the season.

He appears to have been targeted by Wolves as a replacement for Matheus Nunes, who has just been announced as the latest signing for Manchester City this summer, meaning the Molineux side have a few more million to spare on transfer deadline day.
