West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek is on his way to Turkey, according to local reports.

Outlet A Haber today writes that as Galatasaray keep up with their strong chase for reinforcements this summer, the 28-year-old is the next to arrive at the club.

Soucek is reportedly getting loaned by West Ham to the Istanbul side for one season.

The report points out that the Hammers had paid €16m to sign him from Slavia Prague in 2020, and he’s now valued by Transfermarkt at €35m, and is still leaving on a temporary deal.

The midfielder’s contract with West Ham expires in 2024, with an option for a one-year extension.

So despite the recent rumours about his departure, it’s a little weird the Hammers won’t even focus on making money with his sale.

Galatasaray have been hinting on social media about the signings they’re about to make, and they recently posted an airport schedule showing flights coming from Prague, Toronto, London, Dubai and Istanbul.

A Haber points out it’s likely Soucek was the one arriving from Prague, and it seems the move had been agreed with West Ham for a while now.
