On Monday, Sport reported Newcastle United will open formal talks immediately to sign Barcelona’s Raphinha.
Earlier today, Mundo Deportivo stated the Magpies are willing to pay a lot of money to get the deal for the winger over the line in the summer. It was also explained his agent, Deco, is set to arrive in Barcelona today.
This is backed up by Sport, who also discuss Newcastle’s desire to buy the 26-year-old in the summer.
Deco has several agendas to discuss with the La Liga side and one of them is about the Brazil international’s future, who is wanted by Eddie Howe’s side.
Raphinha is one of the players the Catalan club are willing to sell in order to lower their wage bill and also improve their finances. Newcastle are ready to bid for him, along with Chelsea.
The former Leeds United star’s representative intends to ‘convince’ his client to listen to the Tyneside club’s proposal, and potentially those of other English sides, so that Raphinha could return to the Premier League in the summer.
Deco is of the belief a move back to England would be a ‘beneficial operation’ for both the player and Barcelona, especially if Eddie Howe wants him that badly.
