Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Costa may not have had a great World Cup, but that isn’t stopping Manchester United from following him, according to reports.

Newspaper A Bola today features a story about the support that Porto are about to give the player following his return to Qatar, as his mistakes in the tournament still ‘weigh in his conscience’.

Still, it’s said the interest from European giants ‘stays firm’, with Manchester United remaining in the list of clubs who have him as a potential signing for the next season.

A Bola recalls that Costa is represented by agent Jorge Mendes, ‘who can open the Premier League doors’ for him, even though the player is currently focused on his year at Porto.

It’s also pointed out that the goalkeeper recently signed a new deal with the Dragons, committing himself to the club until 2027, and had his clause increased to €75m.

For now, it isn’t clear whether Porto would accept negotiating him, as they seem more focused on having him mentally recovered after the World Cup.

Besides Manchester United, Barcelona and Chelsea are also said to be interested in the signing.
