While Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison was celebrating a goal for Brazil in the 5-1 win over Tunisia this week, a banana was thrown towards him at the Parc des Princes.

The player soon came out to speak about his new act of racism, and got backed up by both the national team and Spurs, who released a short statement about it.

So as ESPN Brasil this week features an interview with Tottenham striker Harry Kane ahead of the North London Derby, they asked him a question about the incident in France.

The English star was another one to come out in Richarlison’s support, asking FIFA to take an action against it.

“First of all, Richy is a great guy, I get on very well with him. Works really hard, really professional. Obviously he’s been great for us this season. So I’m really happy to have him on our team,” Harry Kane told ESPN Brasil.

“Obviously, last night it was really disappointing to see. I haven’t seen Richy, haven’t had another chance to talk to him about it. But FIFA came out and said they’re going to investigate and try to find out what happened. But ultimately it’s not acceptable. I think we’re all doing as much as we can as players, as footballers, as stars, to kick out as much as possible. Hopefully FIFA will be strong and find out who’s done that and make sure the right consequences are made.”

With two goals against Ghana and another one versus Tunisia, Richarlison had a great international break and seems close to convincing manager Tite he deserves the number nine shirt at the World Cup.

In his start for Tottenham since his January move, he hasn’t been doing bad either, with two goals and two assists in eight appearances.
