Danish forward Casper Tengstedt has expressed his desire to make a switch to Liverpool in the future.
The 22-year-old came through the ranks of FC Midtjylland and after having spells at Nürnberg II [on loan] and Horsens, he joined Norwegian side Rosenborg BK in August.
Tengstedt has hit the ground running in Norway, managing eight goals and four assists from seven league matches.
He was part of the Denmark U21 squad for this month’s international break and that gave TV 2 SPORT an opportunity to have a chat with him.
After saying his goal is to represent the Denmark senior team, the attacker detailed his desire to play for Liverpool. Although he mentioned the Reds, he is fully aware his dream is ‘some way off in the future’.
The Dane is surprised with his own form for Rosenborg and also the attention that has followed him since then.
“It was a crazy feeling. I thought ‘hang on, that was a bit surprising’. It was perhaps not what you had expected, although it was of course positive. I just had to look at myself in the mirror one more time to see if it was good enough,” Tengstedt explained.
“When I came to Rosenborg, there were journalists waiting when you arrived, and I wasn’t used to that at Horsens. Both before and after the matches, there is also a greater focus on you, so it has been a bit of an upheaval, but I think it has been positive and it has gone well so far.”
If Tengstedt continues to shine at the Norwegian club, then he may be able to take one step ahead on his dream to play for Liverpool.
