On Wednesday, news came from from Italy that Leicester’s Islam Slimani had been the subject of a lucrative bid from Tianjin Quanjan while the striker was on international duty with Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
While the offer might have been tempting for Leicester, who would be making a small profit, France Football on Wednesday evening reported the bid had been rejected.
Slimani had also been offered a net €10m/year contract by the Chinese club, currently managed by Fabio Cannavaro.
France Football add that while the bid may have been rejected, Tianjin could come back with an improved offer.
The striker, who arrived from Sporting CP in the summer for a club record fee, has scored six goals in 16 appearances for the Foxes this season.
