Luis Sinisterra has been backed to be a hit at Leeds United and potentially secure a big move in future because of it.

That’s according to former Feyenoord assistant manager Said Bakkati, who has heaped praise on the winger after working with him earlier in his career.

Sinisterra completed a move to Leeds earlier this month, becoming their latest signing in a big summer rebuild under Jesse Marsch.

He’s been brought to Elland Road as a potential replacement for winger Raphinha, who could leave Leeds at some point this summer.

The Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, while the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are also keen on a deal if they can convince the player into it.

Sinisterra arrives in England with a growing reputation after a superb season for Feyenoord that saw him score 23 goals and register 14 assists in 49 games in all competitions last season.

It means the expectation is high for him to hit the ground running, and Bakkati believes he can do so.

“I was immediately charmed by him. Technically skilled, unpredictable. When we played eleven against eleven at training, he really stood out,” he told FR12.nl.

“In the Europa League match against FC Porto, he had an action in the corner of the pitch. He was completely in the thick of it, but passed a few men and still came out of it. That is exceptional about him.

“In my opinion, it shows that he can reach the top. An action like that shows talent. You can’t teach that. In my opinion, it shows that he can reach the top.

“It’s (Elland Road) full of supporters who all love the club equally, comparable to The Legion. That pressure suits him. In the big games, like against Porto, he always stood up. I think it will be a good match.

“I think the players who went from Feyenoord to the Premier League also made it through the pressure in those stadiums. Players like Kuyt and Van Persie have proven that.

“I hope Luis will do the same. If he continues to develop like this and keeps getting his return, I see him making an even bigger step in a few years.”
