Tottenham are in ‘pole position’ to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka this summer, with other clubs warned of the advancing negotiations.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Spurs have pushed ahead of Marseille for the French defender.

The website explains that Marseille have been mentioned as a candidate for the 22-year-old, who has established himself as one of the key players for Frankfurt in recent years.

The rumours were increasing at one point, but they had calmed down, and that may be because a deal is advancing with Tottenham.

FM state that Marseille have been told that Tottenham are ‘currently in pole position’ to sign the defender, and Pablo Longoria’s team at Marseille have been ‘warned’ of this.

That’s bad news for the French side, who are still waiting for the green light and money to make a transfer possible.

Now there is no mention of what sort of deal Tottenham are looking at, particularly how much they would be paying for N’Dicka, just that they’re leading the chase.

We’ll wait for more details before getting too excited, then, but this is a transfer that could pick up pace quickly as Spurs continue their summer rebuild with haste.
