Watford forward Ismaila Sarr insists any talk about him leaving the club is currently just ‘rumours’ and nothing beyond that.
The Senegal forward has been in decent form for the Hornets this season, with five goals and one assist in 17 games in the Premier League this season.
Those are good numbers for a man who has missed large parts of the campaign through injury, with a ligament problem, bruising and a hamstring issue keeping him out.
When he has been available, he’s impressed, so much so that many believe this summer could be the one in which he finally moves on from Vicarage Road.
Several reports have linked him with cubs around Europe, but he insists at the moment, there is nothing beyond the rumours.
“In this regard, I am at the same level of information as you,” he told Les Echos, relayed by Wiw Sport.
“What I can say is that I am at Watford; I still have years to go. Two years I believe.
“We continue the work, and if the opportunity arises, we will see later. So far, I only have rumours.”
For now, the focus for Sarr, and Watford, is on avoiding relegation from the Premier League at the first time of asking.
They returned to the top flight this season but have endured a difficult campaign, going through three managers in the process.
The latest of those is Roy Hodgson, who is hoping to steer them away from the relegation zone before the end of the season.
Watford are currently 19th in the table after 30 games but only three points behind Everton in 17th, although the Toffees do have a game in hand.
Either way, it’s all to play for, and Sarr admits that things are difficult, albeit far from over yet.
“It is true that it is difficult for us at the moment,” he added.
“For me, it’s a pressure to play with my club, with the confidence they have in me and that we find ourselves at this level. If it was up to me, we would win all our games.
“We are currently 18th, and it is difficult. Everyone knows the difficulties of the English championship.
“When you don’t win, you can quickly find yourself at the bottom of the table, and it’s often difficult to go up. But I will do my best to help the team get back to playing big roles in the Premier League.”
