Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero had last night a long interview with ESPN Argentina.
With all the excitement about the World Cup, most of the chat was about the national team and the players they’ll pick for the tournament.
Now it turns out there’s a Manchester City player who could be in the squad, and that’s Julian Alvarez, The striker scored this week his first international goal and now hopes he can be in Qatar in November.
Talking about Alvarez, Aguero pointed out how ‘mature’ the player already is, and also wondered how Pep Guardiola will use him once he completes the move to the Premier League side.
“Julián is mature because he is playing for River. Over time he will continue to learn things, like the finishing. Everyone learns with the passing of games,” Aguero told ESPN.
Aguero also claimed that Alvarez will soon get big affection in England from Manchester City fans.
“He’s a very good kid, shy, quiet… you can see his charisma, he has no evil. In Europe they look at Latinos from the start. They will surely grow fond of him.”
Manchester City spent €17m to sign Alvarez in January, and at first, let him stay at River Plate until June. According to Guardiola himself, however, the plan is to bring him to England in the summer.
