When Flamengo’s vice-president Marcos Braz took a flight to Europe on Thursday night, he confirmed he’d be having a meeting with Manchester United for the permanent transfer of Andreas Pereira.
The official also revealed that the Rio de Janeiro side will not trigger the buying option they have for the player, which stands at €20m, and will look for a much cheaper deal instead.
Now as Globo Esporte features another story on this trip, they explain that Flamengo had a ‘green sign’ from Manchester United to go to England and speak to them.
It sounds like Manchester United’s response was indeed very positive, because according to Globo Esporte, there should be only ‘final adjustments’ and the clubs should sort out the payment methods.
The Premier League side had been waiting for the end of the transfer window to tell Flamengo to travel to Europe and speak to them. It’s said there’s a general feeling that this sale to the Brazilian side is the only way the Red Devils could make money with the player.
