Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has shared his delight at sealing a move to Villarreal for the remainder of the season.
The Argentine joined the Spanish club on loan until the end of the season on deadline day as Antonio Conte made space in his squad for new signings Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.
He’s yet to be officially presented by his new club, and reports today indicated he is still to undergo his medical with them before finalising the deal.
That’s presumably because he’s been on international duty with Argentina, although perhaps Villarreal worked something out with Tottenham due to the late nature of the deal.
Either way, today saw him flying to Valencia ahead of undergoing that medical and finalising his return to Spain.
“I’m very happy, very excited about what’s ahead of me,” Marca report him saying.
“The sooner I am with my teammates, the better. This team has great players, they are in a great moment, and I also had the coach, so I’m very happy to be here today.
“I had contact with the coach at the time (at PSG), but as soon as possible I want to put myself under his orders and get to know my new teammates because they have spoken very well of the group.
“We have high expectations in a league that I like very much and of which I have great memories.”
