Leicester City haven’t had the start to the season they’ll have hoped for, and currently find themselves 13th in the Premier League after six matches.

On Thursday evening they face Legia Warsaw in the Europa League, and will be hoping to build on the 2-2 draw they got against Napoli in their opening fixture.

With clubs already planning for upcoming transfer windows, Leicester City have been linked with a move for Luis Alberto recently. Citta Celeste, who cover Lazio, the Spaniard’s club, report that the interest comes directly from Brendan Rodgers.

He’s said to have ‘asked’ Leicester City executives to get the midfielder for his squad, although there’s no indication whether the idea is for a January move or to wait until next summer.

Alberto has a contract with Lazio running until June 2025, having extended his stay a year ago. There’s no indication on what the 29-year-old would cost, but contract length could be as big an issue.

His current deal with take him close to 33, and Leicester may feel the whole package is a little too risky.
