On July 13th, Bild reported Ozan Kabak is ‘flirting with many clubs’, including Leicester City, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace.

Schalke sporting director Rouven Schröder had also confirmed his side have received ‘inquiries’ for the centre-back and wants his future to be sorted out soon.

Another report from Bild now explains Brendan Rodgers’ side and the Eagles ‘have offered €8m so far’ for the Turkey international.

The proposal made by the Premier League duo is short of the fee demanded by the German club. Schalke ‘want to get rid’ of the defender before the window closes and to do that, they want a ‘double-digit million amount’.

Bild also say RB Leipzig have emerged as a suitor for the 21-year-old. They wanted Maxence Lacroix, but weren’t willing to meet the €30m price tag set by VfL Wolfsburg.

It’s claimed Leipzig have now shifted their focus to the defender, who is available for ‘less than half’ of the price needed to sign Lacroix.

Kabak can imagine himself see playing for Jesse Marsch’s side and a move to Leipzig will also see allow him play in the European competitions.

If Leicester and/or Crystal Palace want to get ahead of Leipzig, they need to improve their bid because Schalke want more than €8m to get rid of their player.
