Leicester City, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are the ‘interested clubs’ from England when it comes to signing Schalke’s Ozan Kabak, according to Bild.

The defender was on loan at Liverpool for the second half of last season and the Reds’ decision to not make his stay permanent has made his future uncertain.

After weeks of ‘stagnation’, the centre-back’s ‘planned emergency transfer’ is ‘finally moving’.

The Turkey international, for his part, is ‘flirting with several clubs’ and this includes the Premier League trio of Leicester, Newcastle and Crystal Palace and two clubs from Ligue 1; OGC Nice and Rennes. Rouven Schröder, the sporting director of the German club has confirmed receiving requests for the player.

“Ozan has inquiries. He has to continue the talks now and advance his way in one direction,” he said.

Bild state Schröder can enter into concrete transfer negotiations only once Kabak has ‘decided on a club’.

Schalke’s hope is to at least receive €15m from his sale and if the defender decides to pick the most exciting financial offer, then ‘it would be a blessing’ for his current club.

Regarding Leicester, Newcastle and Crystal Palace, Bild only state they are the ‘interested clubs’, and there’s no mention if any of them have made an offer.

Kabak is in Istanbul and not training with his current employer, after Schalke bosses gave him time off until next week so that he can keep himself fit and sort out his future.
