Even though Willian looks like one of the strong candidates to leave Arsenal this summer, it doesn’t seem like the player is moving towards the exit door so quickly.
Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb today features a story saying the winger has ‘no offers’ to leave the Gunners so far, and could end up staying in London.
The main reason why clubs are reluctant to go after his signing is his big salary, as he currently makes €7.5m per season, which makes him a ‘prisoner’ of the next two years of his contract.
So the 32-year-old now ‘risks’ staying with Arsenal, where he couldn’t have an impressive first season.
Following a free move from Chelsea last summer, the Brazilian made 37 appearances for Arsenal last season, with one goal scored and seven assists made.
His unimpressive stats, added to the shape he’s shown at the start of this pre-season, are what pushed him to a move out of the club just one year after his arrival, but with no takers, Arteta could end up facing another Mesut Özil situation.
