Since changing his formation to three at the back and using wing-backs for width, Antonio Conte’s reliance on out and out wingers has diminished, with two attacking midfielders behind the striker appearing to be the norm these days.

Using both Pedro and Eden Hazard as his creative outlets, the Italian has found it hard to include either Oscar or Willian in his first team plans, which is why an apparent interest in Real Madrid’s Isco seems strange.

The benefit of using the aforementioned two from the off gives Conte pace on the break, something made very clear during the 3-1 away win against Manchester City at the weekend, and with Oscar barely being used, signing Isco would seem very strange.

Despite this, Diario Gol on Monday claim that the Real Madrid attacking midfielder has received an offer from Chelsea, which his father, who also happens to be his agent, is having to deal with.

The 24-year-old has emerged as a new option for Zinedine Zidane after spending the start of the season on the bench, and talk of a new contract from the Spanish giants has once again appeared.

Diario Gol state the player’s entourage, including Paco Alarcón, are said to be using Chelsea’s offer, as well as one from Arsenal and Manchester City, to put pressure on Real Madrid for a renewed deal.

The offer from Abramovich’s club is said to contain double the wages he currently earns at Real Madrid, which the player certainly finds tempting.

Zidane, down his end, would prefer to keep the player for the foreseeable future, such is his reliance on him these days, as made clear by starting him in El Clasico over the weekend.
