Chelsea ‘plan to solve’ their ‘problems in defence’ with the signing of Sevilla defender Jules Koundé this summer.
That’s according to La Colina de Nervión, who say the Blues have a shot at getting the highly-rated defender if they do want him.
Koundé has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in world football over the last two seasons, with a series of impressive performances in the heart of Sevilla’s defence.
That has not gone unnoticed by the top team in Europe, with most of them, including Chelsea, thought to be keen on a move this summer.
Sevilla are more than aware of their interest and everyone else’s and so ‘rub their hands’ at the prospect of a transfer battle this summer.
Director of football Monchi ‘will listen to offers’ for his prize asset but knows Koundé has a big future, comparable to that of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.
He plans to make the defender the ‘biggest sale’ in the club’s history and will ‘not make his exit easy’ if he is to leave at any point.
Thus, he need to ‘intelligently manage’ the offers that might come in from the likes of Chelsea, who will have to pay big to get their man this summer.
