In the past couple of days there have been claims in the British media Pontus Jansson is being tracked by Watford. The defender is currently on loan with Leeds United from Torino, but reports of interest from Watford are now making news in Sweden.
The Swedish football outlet explain Jansson has become a cult hero among the Leeds United fans since his arrival at the club the summer, and say he’s been one of the reasons for the Championship side’s rise in the league table.
Jannson scored his first goal at the weekend during the victory over Norwich City, but Fotbollskanalen believe his success has brought him to the attention of Watford. Despite the reported interest from Watford, Jansson has in the past few weeks said he wants to join Leeds United on a permanent basis.
It was also disclosed by the Sweden international if he plays twenty games for the Elland Road side, then he’ll become a permanent fixture at the club for a fee in the region of £3m.
That would make it sound like the power very much rests with Leeds, and if Watford are genuinely interested then they’d have to negotiate with the Championship club, rather than Torino.
