Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United hasn’t been a big story in the Spanish media for the past day or so. Things have gone quiet after a burst of reports, and the Premier League club aren’t even mentioned in many of the articles on the player’s future.

El Desmarque, however, have presented a transfer theory, claiming Zinedine Zidane is tempted to help the Old Trafford club sign the fullback, so that it can build a relationship for the future.

According to the report, Zidane hasn’t completely given up on the idea of signing Paul Pogba at some point down the line. Therefore, he believes that making negotiations for Reguilon relatively cordial will help should Real Madrid move for the French midfielder in the future.

The manager doesn’t see a role for Reguilon with Madrid next season, so the idea is that sending him to Manchester United, presumably on a permanent deal without a buyback clause, would be a good move both financially and for building bridges to help with a future Pogba attempt.
