Tottenham had another poor night at Wembley on Wednesday as Bayer Leverkusen visited London, scored a goal, and took away all three points. Qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League is still possible for Tottenham, but the difficulty increased somewhat given the Bayer result.
Individual poor performances can’t be overshadowed by the Wembley issue, and Pochettino doesn’t want it providing an excuse for Tottenham.
German newspaper Bild have some ratings which may well help get over to Tottenham player their personal failings.
Whilst most newspaper ratings are out of 10, or sometimes 5, Bild uses the German school grading system to mark Celtic and Gladbach.
1 means very good, 2 is good, 3 is average, 4 is lacking, 5 is deficient and 6 is insufficient.
Only Tottenham’s Eric Dier was rated higher than average. Victor Wanyama and Heung-Min Son were rated especially poorly and given a 5.
