Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport linked Newcastle United with an unlikely move for Ciro Immobile.
Whilst the Magpies may well be splashing the cash soon, and the striker has a good scoring record this season for Lazio, it’s unlikely they’d spend so much on a 30 year old who failed to shine at both Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla.
Likelier is the player’s agent hyping up interest to pressure Lazio into offering a new contract, despite it being less than two years since the last extension.
Newcastle links are spreading with various players, and Gazzetta now say Patrik Schick could be an option.
It’s claimed that ‘in recent hours’, the Premier League club have asked for information on signing the forward, with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton also interested.
Owned by AS Roma, Schick has spent this season on loan at RB Leipzig. Roma ‘need’ €26m from the player’s sale to avoid a capital loss on the transfer, so Franco Baldini is trying to build a transfer.
Schick is 24 years of age , and has 10 goals and two assists in 20 Bundesliga matches this season.
