Everton have been in ‘close contact’ with Juventus over a move for midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the last few weeks.
That’s according to TuttoJuve, who claim sources close to the club have revealed the talks between the two parties over the Frenchman.
According to their information, the player’s mother, Veronique, has made contact with Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti to discuss the possibility of a move.
She is on the hunt for a new club for her son, who joined Juventus on a free transfer from PSG last summer but has struggled to fully establish himself at the Italian giants.
They are ready to sell him and make a tidy profit and ask for €20m to get a deal done, a price that Everton ‘could offer’ and would seemingly be happy to pay.
It’s well established that they want a new central midfielder this summer, that area of the team having been a problem for both Ancelotti and his predecessor Marco Silva.
Rabiot, who worked with Ancelotti during his own spell at PSG, would represent a significant upgrade on their current options and at €20m would be considered something of a coup.
Whether he’d be interested in moving to Goodison Park is debatable, although perhaps that prior relationship with Ancelotti could be the deciding factor.
