One of the big question marks hovering over Tottenham these days is the future of Jan Vertonghen.
The veteran defender’s contract is due to expire in the summer, and with yet any news of a renewal, rumours have started.
We’ve covered a few from Italy, with both Inter and Napoli reportedly keeping an eye on the situation, and there were even claims that Vertonghen’s agent was ‘gathering offers’ for his client.
That’s all well and good, yet it appears the Belgian has a preference in mind, and it isn’t going to Italy.
The 32-year-old has been at Tottenham for nearly eight years now, arriving from Ajax back in 2012 in an £11.25m transfer.
Since then, he’s made 310 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side, scoring 14 goals and assisting seven others.
Oh, and he’s only picked up 44 yellow cards, and one straight red.
