Robin Gosens has impressed for Atalanta while operating as a left wing-back and has seven goals and four assists to his name in the league.
On January 7th, TuttoMercatoWeb reported Chelsea were so impressed with the 25-year-old’s stats that they sent a scout to watch him live in action.
It was stated the reports that reached the English club’s offices were ‘obviously extraordinary’.
Inter Live now reports Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta is interested in signing the German for his club and therefore, Antonio Conte’s side offered €25m plus bonuses for Gosens.
In addition to this, the Nerazzurri were willing to offer young players as a part of the deal. However, Atalanta turned down Inter’s proposal and have slapped a price tag of ‘not less than €40m’ on the player.
It’s claimed the distance of €15m is difficult for Inter to cover, despite good relations between the two clubs.
The same report also states Inter would face ‘intense competition’ from Frank Lampard’s side, Juventus and Schalke for Gosens.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea will meet Atalanta’s demands for transfer, if they are keen on acquiring Gosens’ services.
