Atalanta registered a 5-0 victory over Parma in the first fixture of this calendar year and Robin Gosens was one of the star players for his side, managing a goal and an assist.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Chelsea scouts were in the attendance at Gewiss Stadium to watch the left-back in action.

Gian Piero Gasperini has preferred a three-man defence and therefore, used Gosens as a left wing-back. The German has excelled in that position this season with five goals and four assists in the 15 league appearances.

The website states the 25-year-old’s stats convinced the Blues to send scouts to watch him live in action. It’s claimed the reports that reached Chelsea’s office about Gosens were ‘obviously extraordinary’.

From the Italian clubs to Frank Lampard’s side, Gosens is attracting interest and TMW adds the player has now entered into Chelsea’s thoughts for the future.

Chelsea have Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso as the two recognised left-backs and both players were signed from the Serie A.

The duo have been linked with moves away from Chelsea and should either of them leave Stamford Bridge, Gosens could be a replacement.
