Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevalli has confirmed that Chelsea do have a buy-back option on forward Jérémie Boga this summer.
Boga has impressed in Serie A this season, with six goals and three assists in 21 games in the league so far.
According to reports, his performances have caught the eye of several clubs around Europe with the likes of Barcelona linked with a potential move.
Chelsea have also been named as one of the clubs keeping an eye on the 23-year-old, despite the fact they sold him to Sassuolo for £2.7m in 2018.
Frank Lampard is also known to be on the lookout for offensive additions, having tried to get them in January but failed.
Sassuolo chief Carnevalli has now confirmed the option on Boga is real, although he failed to mention the price involved in the deal.
“Chelsea can redeem him in June,” Tuttomercatoweb report him saying in a press conference.
“We have excellent relationships with them, we met them with them before Christmas also for other operations, because we like it as we did with Barcelona, to have a collaborative relationship.
“They can take him back, but we can also do an operation together, we can take him back, there is total openness.”
