Chelsea are interested in Grasshopper right-back Allan Arigoni but face stern competition from Barcelona for his signature.
According to Blick, both Barcelona and Chelsea are ‘chasing’ the 21-year-old, who has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season.
The newspaper claims that his name is ‘on the notice’ of top European clubs, but it is Chelsea and Barcelona are who are ‘especially’ after him at this moment in time.
Of those two, the Spanish champions appear to be the keenest, as it’s explained that Barcelona legend José Mari Bakero recently travelled to Switzerland to watch Arigoni in person.
There is no mention of an official bid, or even an enquiry at this point, just that both clubs have their eye on the defender, who is ‘one of the fastest players in Switzerland’ according to Blick.
Arigoni has been recorded at a speed of 35.1km/h this season, which makes him as fast as Borussia Dortmund’s Achraf Hakimi, who is the fastest player in the Bundesliga.
That speed is something he has put to good use this season, with five assists to his name so far and apparently enough to make him ‘highly sought after throughout Europe.’
