Earlier today, we covered claims made by Granit Xhaka’s agent José Noguera that the Arsenal midfielder has agreed terms with Hertha Berlin and it’s now down to the clubs to reach agreement for the transfer to take shape.
Noguera spoke to Blick.ch and they also reported new Gunners manager Mikel Arteta has told the 27-year-old in private that he could leave the north London club in the summer, despite publicly praising him. The Swiss outlet added this had angered the player.
Bild have also spoken to the Swiss international’s representatives and Noguera states they have asked permission from the Premier League side to allow his client to join Hertha. However, Arteta has no plans to let Xhaka leave as he relies on the player.
Bild further add Arsenal’s behaviour has ‘irritated’ the player’s entourage and they are of the belief the English club ‘does not adhere to agreements’. The report also suggests Arsenal are playing a game with Xhaka and Hertha in order to ‘drive up’ the transfer fee.
With Xhaka’s agent publicly confirming the former Bundesliga man wants to leave Arsenal, it remains to be seen if his employer will keep him at the Emirates against his wishes.
