Sabah claim Besiktas will sell Domagoj Vida if the Croatian international doesn’t agree to a contract extension with the Super Lig club.
In the past week the player has been linked with a move to Newcastle United ahead of the next transfer window. Vida has been continually linked with a move to the Premier League, so it’s no surprise to see it happening again ahead of January.
It’s now claimed by the Turkish newspaper that Besiktas’ new board are looking to reduce the wage bill within the squad and they want Vida to sign a new contract on a lower salary.
They’ll extend Vida’s contract if he agrees to lower his wages but if the central defender refuses, Sabah report they will look to offload him, with Newcastle United interested.
The Turkish newspaper backs up the Magpies interest in the 30 year old and they report the Premier League side are ready to offer €10m to Besiktas.
This month the former Dynamo Kiev player has also been linked with moves to Norwich City and Brighton Hove & Albion.
Vida is under contract at the Vodafone Park until June 2022.
