Ecuadorian outlet El Telégrafo today brings an update on the situation of Brighton & Hove Albion owned Billy Arce.
The winger was arrested for drink driving in his home country two weeks ago, and sent for 30 days detention by a court.
Now as reported by El Telégrafo, his lawyers have been working to get him out before that. They now claim the player has anxiety attacks, and should be sent to a health centre.
The request has already been sent to the judge, but is still to be accepted. They’re asking a state doctor to evaluate Arce first, and in case his condition is confirmed, then he will be allowed to spend the rest of his prison time elsewhere.
It’s claimed that Barcelona de Guayaquil are not giving up on the player, with club director Francisco Cevallos saying ‘the human being interests us a lot’.
Brighton signed Billy Arce from Independiente in the summer of 2018. Since then, he’s had loan spells at Extremadura, Emelec and now Barcelona. His behaviour issues are not considered to be something new by the Ecuadorian media.
