As Everton continue their scouting missions in Portugal, they watched Porto’s 2-0 win over Santa Clara this weekend.
It’s O Jogo who reports the Toffees’ visit to the Estádio do Dragão, without pointing out who the emissaries could be keeping an eye on.
Porto won the game with goals scored by Zé Luís and Cesar. But it was midfielders Otávio and Danilo who stole the show when controlling the middle of the park.
Everton are still to be linked to Porto players this season, but some rumours from the past could give us an idea of who could they be watching.
Left-back Alex Telles is another one who’s been linked to the Toffees, with the move reportedly ruled out for being too expensive. But he was suspended for this match, and Everton knew about that.
A player who’s probably getting some attention is Luis Diaz. Signed from Junior Barranquilla on a €7m deal this summer, the Colombian international has been adapting well to European football, getting two goals and three assists for Porto this season so far.
Otavio, who’s been doing well for a while and is protected by a €60m release clause, could be a possible target as well, especially after being Man of the Match on Sunday.
Everton have now watched the last two matches of both Porto and Benfica.
