‘Very active on the market for young Frenchman’.
That’s how L’Equipe described Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday afternoon after it became clear Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would be missing out on a young 16-year-old.
The news came in an article on Le Havre youngster Meddah Daylam, whom the Ligue 2 side are now confident of keeping.
According to the French newspaper, the midfielder is soon expected to ‘quickly’ put pen to paper to his first professional contract in the world of football, meaning the second-tier club have managed to ‘push back the advances of Wolverhampton’.
It’s said Wolves were ‘hoping of concluding his arrival’ at Molineux, presumably this summer.
They will now have to look elsewhere if they want to bolster their academy further.
The fact Daylam has started training with Le Havre’s first-team in preseason could have played a huge part in this, although that last part isn’t stated in the article.
It’s just us making an observation.
