Fulham player ‘one of the preferences’ for club, but brakes applied due to fee

Aleksandar Mitrovic had a direct involvement in 40% of 34 goals scored by Fulham in the Premier League in the 2018/19 season.

The striker scored 11 goals and setup three more for his teammates in 37 league appearances.

With the Cottagers dropping from the Premier League, the Serbian is one of the high value players who could be sold in the summer transfer window.

Real Betis are believed to be one of the clubs interested in signing the former Newcastle United man.

Tuesday’s edition of AS claims the La Liga side are in the market to bring in a new striker in order to avoid the problems they faced during the previous campaign.

Mitrovic has been ‘one of the preferences’ for the Seville club, but they are forced to apply the brakes in their effort to land him due to the various challenges they face in completing the 24-year-old’s transfer. 

It’s claimed there are other clubs interested in signing the player and Betis will have to spend €25m to bring the attacker to the club, which is relatively high for the Spanish side.

Betis are also looking at other options like Villarreal’s Gerard Moreno and Cristhian Stuani of Girona.
