After playing Liverpool last weekend, Newcastle United striker Salomón Rondon has a lot to tell about the Anfield side.
That’s why Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo invited him today to speak about the Reds’ Champions League clash against Barcelona.
“Their great danger is that they are a very versatile team, they attack the spaces a lot, they have very great players of great level and at any moment they can generate a problem”, Salomón Rondon told Mundo Deportivo. “If they score a goal they can come up with their people, with their stadium, and it is a team that has that magic.”
But Mundo Deportivo also wanted to know about the player’s future, just like many fans of the Premier League club where he’s spent the past season.
“I am very satisfied because manager Rafa Benítez put a lot of confidence in me and I have tried to give the maximum to the team, having participated in so many goals has been important for the objectives of the team and the personal ones, which were to be able to continue overcoming myself one more season.”
Rondón was also quizzed on what happens next, with Newcastle hoping to keep him around for a further season. First he’s concentrating on the Copa America in Brazil.
“There is still a fixture to try to put a good finish and then think about the Copa America, and wherever next season is, continue to contribute with work and goals.”
