Earlier today, Mundo Deportivo reported that Adrien Rabiot’s signing is no longer a priority for Barcelona and they’ve ‘diminished the interested’ to sign him on a free transfer in the summer.

With less than six months left on the contract at Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 winners are looking to offload him this month in order to avoid him leave for nothing after this season.

According to Catalan newspaper Sport, the Frenchman is drawing attention from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool and the next 48 hours are believed to be decisive for his future.

Spurs and the Reds are the two clubs who have ‘shown the most interest’ in signing the 23-year-old before the window closes on Thursday.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are ready to sanction the sale of the player, but Rabiot is not interested in a transfer this month.

This may suit Barcelona, who are considering of adding him to their squad for the next season.

Sport also mentions that the north London side and the Merseyside club would consider to land him on a free transfer in the summer, if they fail to do secure his services in January.

Rabiot has recently suffered two bereavements in his close family, which could make him prefer to stay in Paris until the summer.
