At the rate things are going, there’s a good chance half the Premier League will have been linked with Stanislav Lobotka by the end of next week.
On Thursday, we covered a story from Calciomercato.it stating Chelsea, Leicester and Bournemouth were all interested in the Slovakian midfielder, with the latter of the two said to be ‘ready to offer €25m’ for the Celta Vigo man.
Fast forward to Friday, and Paris United in France state both Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also considering the 24-year-old, who has a release clause of €50m.
Their information comes amid Paris Saint-Germain keeping Lobotka as their backup option to bolster their midfield, having previously looked at the Hornets’ Abdoulaye Doucouré.
Why Watford would be interested is easy to see, most likely keeping tabs on the Slovakian in case they lose the Frenchman in January.
As for Wolves in all this, they could be looking at Lobotka should something happen with Ruben Neves, which would come as a surprise this month.
Our bet is they’re just looking at the Celta star for next summer, as Doucouré has made it clear he wants to leave Vicarage Road, while Wolverhampton are far likelier to lose the Portuguese in the summer.
They would also be in a far stronger financial position themselves.
