Manchester United will have scouts at the Amsterdam Arena watching Ajax face Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, according to a claimed exclusive from Italy.

Calcio Mercato says the Red Devils will have emissaries watching several players from the home side, in a list which would include the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong, David Neres, Donny van de Beek and Noussair Mazraoui.

As the clubs now fight for the top of Group E, this is undoubtedly a great chance to watch the young players proving themselves under some pressure, especially facing a strong opponent such as Bayern Munich.

However, Manchester United have a huge scouting network watching players in Europe’s top leagues day after day, so it doesn’t necessarily mean they have a specific target this time.

Also because Ajax or Bayern Munich may be the Red Devils’ opponents in the Champions League’s round-of-16 next year.
