Outlet UOL brings a nice story today telling how Fernandinho managed to change the way that Brazilians are seen at Manchester City.

The website recalls that due to bad behaviour from stars such as Robinho and Jô, Brazilians didn’t have a good reputation at the club.

This theory is confirmed by a club source, presented as an employee there, who’s claimed that things for the duo could be even worse in case they were at Manchester City these days.

“I’ve enjoyed nights out with several players, and at that time it was much easier to go out to parties because people didn’t take pictures at all times,” a club source told UOL.

“If Robinho were in the club today and repeated the behaviour he had in the past, he would probably be arrested or would have to respond for serious problems.”

UOL reports that Fernandinho did things differently, having an exemplary behaviour and being friends with most of the club’s employees. That includes the very good relationship he has with manager Pep Guardiola, who’s publicly praised the midfielder many times.

Now even Fernandinho himself talked about the issue, saying he’s glad for changing the Brazilian stereotype at the club.

“The biggest legacy I’ll leave maybe is the fact that I have reopened the door for Brazilians in the club.

“When I got here, Brazilians were still seen with a bad eye, and today we have four Brazilians of a very high level in the squad, which makes me very happy because I’ve always been very respected by everyone inside the club, by the fans. I feel a great affection from all.”
