Marlos Moreno hasn’t had the greatest of times since signing for Manchester City in 2016.
The Colombian was very highly rated when he made the move from Atletico Nacional, but wasn’t able to get a work permit and was immediately loaned out.
That will have been the plan all along, and he was sent to Deportivo La Coruna to get some European experience. A further loan followed to Girona, but Moreno wasn’t able to impress on either of the placements and his star started to slip a little.
Therefore a move back to South America was deemed to be the best idea, with Manchester City loaning the attacker to Flamengo. But even that isn’t entirely going to plan for the 21 year old and he’s struggling to stand out in Brazil, and that’s when he can get on the pitch.
Moreno received a strong blow to the lower back and had to be stretchered off lying on his front, it all created some worry.
Marca Claro report that initial medical reports have revealed there’s ‘no fracture’ and it’s now down for the Flamengo medical team to see how long the lay off will be.
Manchester City, who will be used to negative Moreno news, will be relieved this one isn’t as bad as some feared, but still have to worry over the youngster’s general lack of progression.
